Hi Olivi,

I am a plush artist that also works with We Love Fine and has contributed to the Secret Shop for DotA 2.  I saw your Faceless Rex plush and it turned out fantastic!  I made one as well ( , and our patterns are almost identical (there are differences that I can see.)  I was wondering if you used the help of 3D models to create your plushies?  Personally, I use a combination of digital tools to help me with my pattern creation.  Your patterns are very clean and complex so I was just curious how you went about it.  You can private message me if you like as well.

Keep up the fantastic work, cheers!

Hi Arixy,

There is no contradiction in the fact that some parts of our toys can be similar, because we were doing the same character.
For example the top of the head or the tail can be very similar, just because they have the same shape as that of the original character.
However, when viewed as a whole - concept different and toys look different, despite the fact that both are similar to the original
I actually started making rex plush in July, long before Ti5, but I could finish and show this much later due to lack of time.

I never use and do not use 3d program and any other programs for creation patterns for my toys. Sorry that I can not help you with that.
I just imagine the fragments in my head and draw them on paper, and then make a sample of fabric and I make a change in the pattern until the result does not satisfy me =)
This process may be repeated again and again for a long time, depending on the complexity of toys.
In the case of Rex only the fifth sample has satisfied me, and this is represented in the photo, although I later improved and it) but not yet showed it.

But for example El Gato I did once, without test samples, and it was so hard >_<

Thank you,
and good luck with your works =)
